Darksiders 3 strife8/22/2023 ![]() ![]() Pair him up with his brother War, with his unwavering loyalty and strong sense of duty, and you have a fantastic dynamic between these two characters. He’s brash, snarky, and overly confident, and he likes to question the will of the Council whenever it pleases him. Unlike the stalwart War, or the unpredictable Fury, Strife’s personality is reminiscent of Cayde-6 from Destiny. He is a long-range master with his guns, Mercy and Redemption, but can also do some damage in close quarters. Strife, by contrast, is the rebel of the group. Fury uses a combination of weapons and magic to fight off enemies. Death is nimbler and can dash in and out of combat easily. War is a powerful melee character that does incredible damage with his sword Chaos Eater. What’s great about Darksiders is that each character is unique in terms of personality and overall fighting style. Players, therefore, can play as Strife and War in single-player or play both in two-player co-op. This is a difficult task, but fortunately Strife has his brother War at his side. As an agent of the Council, Strife must do their bidding. Strife is sent by The Charred Council to uncover Lucifer’s plans and to stop him from disrupting the balance. This is not a continuation of the story, but a prequel that sets this game centuries before Darksiders. Introducing Strife as Himselfĭarksiders Genesis formally introduces us to the last Horseman, Strife ( Chris Jai Alex), who we first met in Darksiders III. All of these games combined gave us an interconnected tale of Heaven, Hell, Angels, Demons, and the cosmic Balance. Darksiders II, released in 2012, followed Death ( Michael Wincott) and Darksiders III, released in 2018, gave us Fury’s ( Cissy Jones) story. Starting with Darksiders, originally released in 2010, we were introduced to War ( Liam O’Brien). ![]() The Darksiders franchise follows the stories of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Death, Fury, and Strife. So how would these changes affect the overall feel and play of the game? Ditching the third-party perspective in favor of a top-down view and adding a new Creature Core system, this game is on a level of its own. But this game, much like its main character, is distinctively different than its predecessors. Darksiders is a series with a deep, rich story and with three open-world games under its belt, the anticipation was high when developer Airship Syndicate and publisher THQ Nordic announced Darksiders Genesis a few years ago. ![]()

Remembear poem8/22/2023 ![]() ![]() The fourth stanza of the poem was written first, and includes the best known lines in the poem. The soldiers are "straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow," and though facing "odds uncounted" are "staunch to the end." It is less known than the fourth, despite occasionally being recited on Remembrance Day. The third stanza refers to soldiers marching to fight in the Battle of the Marne. The monosyllabic words of the second stanza echo "solemn, funereal drums." The stanza, like the first, espouses themes of "martial glorification." It describes war as "solemn," with a "music" and "glory" and compares death to "celestial music." Binyon personifies the United Kingdom as a " mother," and British soldiers as its "children." The poem remembers the deaths of soldiers while justifying the cause of their deaths as "the cause of the free": a theme carried throughout the rest of the poem. The first stanza establishes a patriotic element. By the time you’ve completed building your memory palace, you have a step-by-step way of remembering something as important as a list of authors in order of their deaths. ![]() You then continue assigning information in the order in which you come into contact with these objects. You begin by picturing a familiar place and assigning pieces of information you want to remember to items in that place. Have you built your memory palace yet? To review, a memory palace, or the Method of Loci, is a known mnemonic device that helps you remember information in great detail. Students around the globe struggle to recall what they learned in class, especially incredibly long essential lists, but not if you use the ancient Greek memory technique.įinal exams are right around the corner. It’s possible to remember everything in your textbook using the memory palace technique. That’s why you need to tie a distinctive action to every relationship between data and place.Thirteen Of The Best Books On The Memory Palace Envisioning a connection like “the pegs on my coat rack are actually cinnamon sticks” is a nice mental image, but when you try to recall it, you may not remember what particular object the pegs are supposed to be. The more bizarre, action-based, and ridiculous these connections are, the more likely you are to remember them. If these scenarios sound implausible and stupid, that’s because they are. Or maybe your coat rack turns into a sentient cinnamon stick and takes your coat like it’s a rejected character cast out of a Beauty and the Beast fanfic. For instance, imagine a cinnamon stick with little arms and legs doing gymnastics on the rack, swinging between the coat hooks. There’s no obvious memory trick, like rhyming words or a movie reference, that links cinnamon to a coat rack, so you’ll have to make one up yourself. The first spice on the list is cinnamon, and the first place you’ve chosen is your coat rack. Let’s say you’re trying to memorize the 10 spices that go into your family’s pumpkin pie recipe, and you’re doing so by placing them around your apartment. ![]() A fictional environment from a beloved book series, the set of a popular TV show, or a virtual reality space that you visit often can all work as well. The setting of your favorite video game, for example, could work as long as you know it well and can navigate through it in your mind. You know a lot more places than you think you do, and since this technique is all in your brain, they don’t even have to be physical spots. They don’t have to be indoor spaces: your local park, favorite campground, or an amusement park that you know by heart can also work well. Your current home, the house you grew up in, or your workplace are all great options.Īs you develop your memory storage skills, you’re likely to expand into additional locations to store more information. To get started, pick a location that you’re extremely familiar with-one that you can call to mind instantly and in detail. This means that your memory palace is already built, waiting to be filled. If you think the memory palace technique is right for you, here’s some good news: using the Method of Loci is less about “constructing” a mental space and more about meaningfully placing information into mental spaces that already exist inside your brain. ![]() Upgrading to drupal 98/22/2023 ![]() There are a few ways to check if your site is using the deprecated code. Keep updating the contributed modules regularly, this ensures deprecated code removal. The best approach is to just keep your Drupal 8 website upgraded to the final Drupal 8.9 version as it is backwards compatible and the further upgrades will be as easy as any other minor version upgrade. Once you are on Drupal 8, the next question that arises is: This allows for a smooth upgrade from Drupal 8 to 9 and similarly to Drupal 10 as well and once you are on Drupal 8, as long as you are upgrading to minor versions of Drupal 8 regularly there won’t be any major surprises from Drupal 9! Considering that, We recommend that you upgrade your Drupal 7 site to Drupal 8 at the next chance available because the extended support for Drupal 7 is short term and a less secured fix, and why would you want to lose out on all the benefits of Drupal 8 today when the Drupal 9 upgrade is smooth and cheap? Upgrade to Drupal 8 at Next Chance Available!Īs discussed before, Drupal 9 is built on top of Drupal 8 making it backwards compatible with Drupal 8. If there are no budget or other constraints then revamping the design is the best milestone while upgrading your site, as you can get face-lift and tech enhancement in one go and also turns out to be much cheaper. Order of execution if Redesign and upgrade don't overlap will be: Drupal 6/7 > Drupal 8 > Redesign > Re-do the layouts / content strategy in Drupal 8 or Drupal 9 - (Rework / Inefficient) The only scenario that we can think of in which it makes sense to wait is if your organization plans to club design refresh of your website with the upgrade and if for some reason redesign is delayed (budget, resourcing) as re-design often comes with layout & content strategy changes. So is there any scenario where you should wait?
